alchemy

Alchemy is an unbelievable time sink. I've been messing with it all morning here at the 'rental's homestead.

trees breathe

I have NO CLUE what this new upload system is all about. Here's a smattering of images...lots of leaves, sometimes birds, mossy parrot beasts, a fig, some Pokemon, and other things. It seems as though despite the happenings of school, and all the demands said happenings have upon my head, I am still able to make draws. This is a good and joyful thing!

creepies

From the last 3 months, in no particular order.

Based on my cousin's desc. of his "waving hand" corals.

Done with homemade pokeberry ink. It was originally a brilliant fascia, but faded to earthy sepia over the course of a few weeks.

ink

I spent my morning off looking through Wacom drivers on apple.com. I found one for my tablet, installed it, and proceeded to have my mind blown by the magic that is inking with pen pressure settings turned on. I think I'm in love.

I'm going to take pictures of sketches and ink all day, I believe!

pauuusu

Scanner is broken. I'm still doing a draw a day, and I'll upload them in order when the scanner cord is either repaired or replaced. These things are difficult when you work holidays though. My daily 4 hours of me-time are not enough for mundane tasks sometimes :c

day 04 and 05: mushrooms and moonkin

I just got back from Athens, where I was staying with Chris for a short weekend. I miss him already.

From a page of doodles we made in Jittery Joe's.

Doodlepage from Borders.

The weekend was so spectacular, it merited a short comic. We hiked, and drew, and played MtG, and took naps on the floor, and wandered around town, and caught toads, and discussed important matters like how to properly build a hobbit home, which is to be my dream house. Uuuuugh Chriiiis, where are youuu? I miss you, other-half <3 Well. I found my HUGE, jam-stuffed portfolio full of draws from high school art class and SCAD. Looking through everything makes me really really miss art courses...even the ones where all I had to only draw from observation (which, quite frankly, I'm not a huge fan of). I miss SCAD. It was a fun, crazy place full of inspiring things.
I think this is from early in my senior year of high school. I remember spending the day in Shues' room cranking this out. Best art teacher EVER!

From junior year of high school.

Drawing II

Drawing I

I hated this study from Drawing I. We had to crank out 5 chiaroscuro studies of the same place over the course of 5 weeks. Gooooooooood I hated it.

10 minute speed chiaroscuro from Drawing I.

Drawing II. There is some serious perspective fail in this tiny little place, but I always see it first and it bugs me.

There are literally hundreds of other pieces in the portfolio, but these were probably among the most interesting. Still lives are only so fascinating, you see.

day 03: ukko and akka

Yesterday's draws. I've been reading a lot of Finnish mythology, so there have been lots of bears happening.

Everyone is getting married or taken on extravagant dates and I get to hear the stories, countdowns, etc.

Dead-headed bear

I'm going to Athens in an hour, so today and tomorrow's draws will be posted probably tomorrow night.

day 02: i plant the seeds that grow to woods

Toots and I were watching a show about weird food and he ended up molting two lovely feathers on me. They ended up working nicely as ear tufts on a hoot!

Last night I sat down to force a draw. I ended up fleshing out a composition and making-over an old character of mine, Ohtuwuu the Planter (formerly known as Otego). I plan on finishing it, but until then here's a tiiiiny WIP.

day 01: stompii

Last night I was incredibly tired and not in the mood for draw-times, but I tried to crank little things out anyways while listening to the lovely Miss S. J. Tucker. Today/last night's doodles brought to you by the dapper Toots and Mushroom Flower.

mushy flo

It has been a very unproductive month since I last uploaded. I can't think of anything to draw these days, and I definitely can't motivate myself to colour anything. In no particular order, here are some terrible scans of everything I produced over the last month.

He makes the flowers and herbs and moss and trees and shrubs grow and grow and grow.

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?

I love Pokemon way too much.

Owlulu.

This was something; one of those personal-inspired pieces. I don't think it will ever be finished though.

My little fae-animal, Mushroom Flower. I think about her and make stories while doing grunt work at the clinic.

Anoter incomplete Mush Flo done during a 5 min. break at work.

At some point, I had fantasized about starting a hobbit folk band with Chris. He would play his ocarina and I would play my bodhran. Maybe Toots could provide vocals. I had a jazzy name planned for us, but I can't remember it :c

Linda gifted me with a dead Mourning Dove to draw after work.

I am going to make a potentially fruitless attempt at doing a draw a day again. Almost a year ago I tried this in an attempt to force more draws out of me. It worked pretty well, actually. School started and mucked things up a bit though. We'll see what comes of this.
